Casa Vinicola Abbazia di San Gaudenzio SRL is located in S. Stefano Belbo, a small town between Langhe, Monferrato and Roero, in the south of Piedmont region. The name “Abbazia” which means “abbey”, comes from the previous Benedictine monastery dating to the twelfth century that it’s incorporated into the cellar.
The winery sold only bulk wines and over the years, under the expert management of Pietro Santero, the patriarch of the Santero family, they have modernized their operation with the proper equipment to advance the plant technologically and to bottle their own wines effectively. After three generations, the Santero family is proud of the fact that they still own and operate their winery at such a historical site. Today, the hard of the company consists of a state-of-the-art plant, which includes a vinification system, bottling lines, storage, and administrative offices right inside the old walls of the original Abbey.
Casa Vinicola Abbazia di San Gaudenzio SRL has competed in the International Organic Awards 2021 and has received a Gold Award for Prosecco Spumante DOC Extra Dry, awarded by Organic Newspaper.

All the production processes: grape crushing, winemaking, bottling, distribution are under quality control: HACCP’s & ISO from more than 15 years. In the last 6 years all the processes of control, production process, and final quality are following the conformity of Global International for Food Safety Certification: BRC & IFS.
