Back in 1992, organic farmer and one of the founders of the renowned Teifi Farmhouse Cheese, John Savage-Onstwedder commissioned the world famous Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland to produce the world’s first organic whisky of the modern era.
Springbank made 15 barrels out of the 11 tonnes of organic barley that John had specially delivered to the distillery.
Their Seaweed Gin was launched on March 1, 2014. It was originally designed to complement seafood with its savory taste It makes a truly unique G&T with natural tonic and a sprig of rosemary, olive and slice of lemon with a possibility of making dirty martinis out of it, strong with 42% alcohol content.
The botanical gin is infused with seaweed from the Cornish coast to give it a slight green hue.
