Empowered by the strong desire to make the finest wines, the Esporao project commenced in Alentejo.
Guided by their core values, the company is working towards building a better world that creates organizational climate and turns challenges into opportunities. They take a conscious effort in creating impact and communicating in an honest and objective way.
Each variety is harvested separately, destemmed and crushed. Its temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation is done in stainless steel vats, concrete tanks, and small marble basins, pressed, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Their ESPORÃO COLHEITA RED 2017 is produced solely from grapes grown at Herdade do Esporão, under organic farming practices. It conveys the typical features of the diversity of the soils where the vines are planted and the character of the grape varieties selected.
Their vineyards are certified organic with granite and schist stone, with a clay structure. Organic farming allows the propagation of auxiliary insects, such as lacewings, which are key to controlling certain pests.
Its grape varieties include Aragonez, Cabernet Sauvignon, Touriga Franca. It is ruby in color. Its aroma smells black plum and some fresh currant combined with touches of white pepper and some green notes.
It has 14% alcohol volume A silky and appealing texture is dominant with ripe fruit enveloped in mineral and earthy touches. Organically pure, vibrant and persistent character.
It ends dry, grippy and long on the tart, dark berry fruit filled finish.
For the reasons of product quality, environmental conservation and people’s health, Esporao will continue to make organically delicious wines for everyone.
